On May 4th, Hong Jun-pyo, a member of the National Assembly, lectured to Law School students at the UOS. He is a politician in Dongdaemun-gu Eul local constituency. Also, he is a representative in the National Assembly in Grand National Party. When he saw three students who protested Grand National Party, he stated with an easy and composed attitude, “I will answer all your questions if you come and listen to my lecture.”

He looked back on the past, and said, “When I was a freshman at the Korea University, I weighed 46Kg.” He was born extremely poor. And he experienced poverty during his childhood and university life. He passed the exam to be a public prosecutor in 1982, and has struggled to live the “Right Path” as a prosecutor. Also, he has prosecuted the older brother of the former president, Chun Doo-hwan, and eradicated many hooligans in Gwang-ju, Jeolla-do.

He said, “How could the former president, Roh, receive 600 million dollars? How come the former president was not prosecuted?” In addition, he emphasized strengthening the constitutionalism in Korea. Then, he said, “To improve our GDP and GNI, we should seek ‘A New Growth Power Project.’” He stressed that Lee Myeung-bak administration can achieve the ‘Wealthy People and Wealthy Nation.’ So he insisted that the ‘New Growth Power Project’ should concentrate on improving Korea over the next 10 years.
