Reputation of UOS has been quiet. But now is the time to move on. More and more people began to recognize the UOS. I belive it’s just a start of a great upheaval and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next year.

On November 17th, a Gender Equality Campaign was held. This campaign consisted of seven courses. These courses didn’t have any sequences so that the participants could choose the course which they wanted to experience.

Each course was about experiencing issues about the opposite gender, romance, psychology, sexual violence, and contraceptive measures. Through the courses you could experience different aspects about the opposite gender. Women could carry the military back pack weighing 15kg. Men could experience pregnant women through the way they may feel when they are pregnant so they could understand the hardship of the pregnancy.

In the contraceptive measure courses, you could learn knowledge about contraception, like using condoms, menstrual cycle, and contraceptive medicine. People can make a wristlet which gives notice about the woman’s cycle. There were some more interesting courses as well. The goal of this campaign was to make people more aware about gender equality and better understand each gender.

This campaign was organized by people who are called the Gender Equality Keepers (there are only three universities in Seoul which have these keepers). They received instruction for 10 weeks, so they are well educated about the knowledge related with this campaign.

Thanks to these keepers efforts and individual’s concerns about gender equality, the number of the people who participates in this campaign is increasing every year.
