On January 12th, 2010, Haiti met the biggest disaster since the country has been established - a severe earthquake. This calamity befell near Port-au-Prince which is the capital of Haiti, ending up with over 30,000 deaths.

More than 3,000,000 people, about 1/3 of total the population, were estimated to be injured, killed, or lost all their household belongings according to Red Cross. Many notable buildings were damaged or destroyed including the Presidential Palace and National Assembly building.

Therefore, the 46th Student Council of the UOS called an emergency meeting and decided to raise funds for Haiti. This fund raising is with an organization named Compassion, founded after the Korean War to help poor Korean kids and finally supported us to get over terrible poverty which occurred.
