On Wednesday, March 19th, at the Liberal Arts Building, the novelist Sng Sk-je(Seong Seok-je) gave a lecture. There were many students interested in literature who attended his lecture.

The Third Invitation of Writers included not only lectures, but also there were event and autograph sessions. Some of the students who attended received his latest work from a prize draw. The author’s subject was “Today, why should we read novels.” One student questioned him as to why he tilted the talk this way.

He answered, “This is hearsay, that reading novels is on decline. I don’t agree with this opinion.” He thinks that by reading, people can sympathize with others while reading about their lives. So, he insisted that novels should not be disregarded. Also, he informed the students that during his university days, especially his literature club with the poet Gi Hyeong-do, helped him to become a writer.

This was a valuable experience for students. The Forth Invitation of Writers will be held next semester.
