Have you ever heard of the term DIY? You may have heard of it many times but you may not know exactly what it means. It is short for “Do it yourself.” It first became popular in England after the World War II when people were encouraged to make things themselves because of a lack of supplies and human resources.

However, nowadays DIY means that you make and fix things by yourself, instead of buying finished products. It can cover almost everything, so you can fully express your own style by DIY. If you think it is too inconvenient, then start with something easy and small. The UOS Times will now introduce to you some practicable ways of making cosmetics, making personal care goods, and cooking.

Making Cosmetics

Do you think brand-name and expensive cosmetics are good for your skin? Not necessarily. According to KBS special “The truth that cosmetic companies” and some books, there are few differences between expensive and lower-priced cosmetics, but rather it is the chemicals in cosmetics that have bad effects. Cosmetics that are made with all-natural ingredients are often referred to as alternatives. So, I want to show you two examples that you can make yourself.

You can use it for up to three months because alcohol extends its shelf life.
If you do not want to wait two weeks, you can also make it quicker in a different way. Pour hot purified water into 3g of green tea leaves or a tea bag and then add 5g glycerin, then you are done! Keep it refrigerated. You can use it for up to 2 weeks.
When you make toner, you can use fruits or herbs such as lemon, lavender, and so on.

Vitamin E acts as a natural preservative and the olive liquid that different from olive oil acts as an emulsifier. You can easily buy these ingredients online. If the amount that they sell is too much for you to use, then you can buy a package for one set. There are also many other methods to make cosmetics on many websites and books. After knowing information about ingredient, you can make your own cosmetics for your skin.

Making Accessories

There are already a lot of accessories on the market for cellphones. When you feel they are not to your taste and your cellphone is lackluster, how about making a cellphone accessory yourself? It will be a good addition to your cellphone and refreshing for yourself.

Winter has already gone, spring is here and flowers will be blooming before you know it. You may want to accessorize yourself specifically for this beautiful spring. Here is a tip on how to easily make a corsage.

Making Healthy Food

Generally, many people suffer from Spring fever, which is a feeling of tired of sleepy when spring comes along. Enjoying spring herbs that are in season like shepherd’s purse, mugwort, wild chives and so on helps you to overcome spring fever. So, I want to show you how to cook a couple of dishes using wild herbs, especially shepherd’s purse; it is rich in both minerals and protein.

I have only introduced you to a few examples of DIY in this article. There is a lot of other information such as furniture, interior decoration, and so on that you can access on the Internet and in books. There are also many places to learn DIY methods, where instructors can show you how to make DIY things. I hope you do not hesitate to try to make things by yourself, for yourself. Not only it helps to show off your personality, but it is also a lot of fun to make things by yourself. Do It!
