Dedication Ceremony

Throughout 2010, it seemed the campus was constantly under construction. Now, after all of those renovations, we can enjoy the view of an all new UOS! Last December 9th, the dedication ceremony for the Emblem Tower, by the front gate of the campus, was held.

Before the establish of the tower, there was only statue of Jangsan-got(Jangsan Cape) falcon in front of the University Center. Now, when people enter the campus, they can see the Emblem Tower which represents the school. Not only students but also strangers can easily notice the university by the tower.

Also, the old sand sports field and worn out facilities were replaced with a new turf field. The new field is located behind of the Design and Sculpture Building and is open to all UOS students. At the northern part of the new field, a new gate for students and citizens was made on February 21st. It will increase the accessibility of UOS.

Another project that was completed on campus was the renovation of the clock tower in front of the Cheonnong Hall. It was made at 1970s’ by the donation of alumni. At that time, very few of students had their own watches therefore the union of alumni decided to make a tower to let students know the exact time. This tower also shows their love of school and student. All of those renovations are there for us to enjoy the new campus!
