In order to give better understanding about the history of Seoul, the UOS museum director, Bae WooSeoung, organized a guidance program for both Seoulites and UOS students. Every Thursday for 2 hours, participants in this program can enjoy the exhibition of various maps in the past along with a thorough explanation by the curator.
To be specific, during the first session ‘The Museum Talk’, participants are introduced to the History and activities of the UOS museum. And then, they are guided to look at the maps in the Chosun dynasty and learn about Kim Jungho, who made the first exact atlas of the entire Korean Peninsula. For the second session, participants look at the miniature of Seoul accompanied with a detailed explanation by the curator.
This free summer program will provide a valuable chance to learn about the history of Seoul for everyone. People who wish to participate in this program have to send an appliction with their information such as name, birth date, and phone number about a week before the program starts. This program is only open to the first 20 arrivals each time.
