Cho Eun-young and Yoo Joo-yun who are Industrial and Visual Design students at the University of Seoul (UOS) won awards at the Bratislava 2011 BIB (Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava) book fair. The fair has a long history over a period of 40 years since it started in 1967.

So it was considered as the most authoritative biennale of illustration in the world. In the contest, only works which had been approved by a jury could participate. Among the many works accepted, two UOS students’ works were awarded. Cho Eun-young’s was awarded the grand prize.

Her work expressed a variety of motions and faces of horses as seen by a child. It was evaluated as a characteristically dynamic style picture. Proudly, she is the first Korean to win the grand prize for the contest. Also, Yoo Joo-yun was awarded the second prize, “Golden Apple” for her work where she showed the beauty of blank, black and white with aesthetical qualities. Meanwhile, has been invited to the 2013 Bologna book fair and will be displayed with other prize-winning works at the 2013 BIB book fair.
