On November 11, the candidate team ’Muhan Dongnyeok,’ consisting of Kim Kyung-won (School of Environmental Engineering, 05’) and Kim Keun-sik (Department of Philosophy, 06’) won the 48th Student Council election at the University of Seoul (UOS).
The competition during the election campaign period, from November 8 to 10, was quite fierce. During the campaign period, many people wondered which candidate team would win the election. Total 4,220 students, which are 53.06 percent of the 7,963 electorates, voted for the 48th Student Council election. The voting rate was high enough for the quorum since the quorum for the election is 3,186. To be specific, the candidate team ‘Muhan Dongnyeok’ won 2,525 votes, reaching 59.83 percent of the voting rate.
On the contrast, the candidate team ‘Baram,’ consisting of Park Jun-hwan and Choi Ji-hye, won 1,666 votes, recording 39.47 percent of the voting rate. In this sense, it turned out that most UOS students supported Kim Kyung-won as the president and Kim Keun-sik as the vice-president of the Student Council. These two candidates came up with pledges that are beneficial to the UOS students such as half tuition fees. Congratulations and Let us hope they fulfill their election pledges.
