The UOS has made some changes to scholarships for students following the half tuition fee policy change since Dec. 30, 2011. To avoid misunderstanding new laws, we wrote an article about them. Please check them exactly.

First, it does not apply to any students who entered the university before the second semester of 2011. For those students the old rules will still be applied.
Second, in Article 13 from UOS scholarship rules, scholarships are given to all applicants except for those scholarships, such as Seoul Mayor’s Scholarship or Scholarship for Excellent Achievement or other scholarships rewarded to outstanding students for good marks.

Third, in the first clause of Article 11, the Scholarship for Excellent Achievement is given to a certain number of freshmen who have good scores when they enter the university. If the students belong to the college of Arts and Physical Education, they need to attain higher than a 3.0 GPA when they are a freshman and a sophomore.

Fourth, for any students on academic probation, they will not qualify for the Financial Aid Scholarship.

Fifth, the President`s Scholarship is given to graduate students who are recommended by the Dean of Students or a Director for specific reasons.
