According to the Institute of International Cooperation and Education (IICE), over a hundred students applied for the student exchange program this semester. Starting from March 5, IICE recruited students to send on exchange programs to universities in America, Canada and Australia. There were 11 American, four Canadian and two Australian universities that students could apply for student exchange programs to. Applicants were carefully selected based on their grades and TOEFL or IELTS score as well as interviews.

As a result, a total of 25 exchange students and 20 Study Abroad Foundation Program (SAF) students were chosen. Both exchange students and SAF Program students will be sent to universities they applied to as early as August, for at least one semester. Among universities in Korea, UOS currently has one of the highest numbers of students sent to various parts of the world, including Asia, North America and Europe.
