Throughout May 23 to May 25, UOS held annual school festival. This year’s official name of Daedongjae was ‘Warak’ meaning ‘togetherness.’ Each day was full of new and fresh games and events. May 24 and 25 were official one-day pub days for each separate department and clubs in front of Student Hall. Every single event was advertised beforehand through Facebook and posters and received participants.
On May 23, the festival started off with Human Rights Essay Contest and film festival, and Economic lecture given by professor. The Student Council placed 30 meter tall air slide in front of the Cheonnong Hall. The most popular event was ‘Bracelet Pick Up’ The Student Council gave out simple paper bracelet to students. Those who wore the bracelet that day could be pursuit for their phone numbers. This was a large blind date opportunity among non-single students. Opening Concert was given by Norazo in the evening.
Something special was surely prepared on the second day of the festival. Another blind date was opened; ‘Polaroid Blind date.’ Anyone can take a Polaroid picture and leave their cell phone number behind on the picture. Indeed, Polaroid blind date was well liked. Flash mob gathered a number of students; one was zombie flash mob, and the other was water balloon fight.
Last but not least, students of UOS enjoyed open air survival game. Students can shoot water pistols filled with color paints. Students showed eager participation because winning team could take away the entire entry fee. Then there was club party and closing concert had Kim Jang-Hun and Lazybone. After three days of feverish events and games, Warak, or Daedongjae, came to an end.
