The whole view of the ceremony
The 2014 Entrance Ceremony of UOS was held on Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. This year, 1,858 students newly enrolled at UOS. Public figures attended this entrance ceremony including Lee Kun, the president of UOS, Park Won-soon, Seoul City Mayor, and Jeong Dae-je, the president of Alumni.

Lee said, “This year’s ceremony is more vibrant than last year’s. I feel a strong hope and hold high expectations for future.” After the congratulatory message of Lee, Park proclaimed that “UOS is a public university. We must therefore bear some responsibility for public concern.” He emphasized the responsibility of students enrolling at a public university.

After the ceremony, Park and Lee took photos with the attendees of the ceremony. The university provided free lunch to freshmen who attended the ceremony. One freshman, Kang Han-ju (Dept. of Civil Engineering, ’14) said, “I felt very pleased to attend this ceremony. I thought UOS is a young and active university.”
