The representatives of the Independent Student Organization were elected through whole worker retreat on Feb. 4. Choi Ki-hoon (Dept. of Sports Science, ’11) once again took up the position of chairman of the Representative Conference. Ju Yo-han (School of Business Administration, ’13) and Park Jeong-a (Dept. of Urban Sociology, ’12) assumed the vice-chairmen positions. Lee Byoung-jae (Dept. of Urban Administration, ’10) took up the position of president of the Auditing Committee. Kim Yun-cheol (Dept. of English Language and Literature, ’13) assumed the position of President of the Central Election Management Committee.

The UOS Times heard a few comments from these newly-elected representatives.
Choi said, “I will create something which contributes to student self-governance in a way that will work better than what was done last year. I hope the University of Seoul (UOS) students do not think that their representatives are far away from them and regularly express their opinions to the representatives.”

Ju said, “I am young and have little experience in student government. But, as I take up the vice-chairmanship this year, I will work hard with the chairman on improving learning attitudes.”

Park said, “I believe that the Representative Conference is an organization which is responsible for major issues of student self-governance. This year, as Vice-chairman, I will sincerely lead the Representative Conference to help the chairman.”

Lee said, “The Auditing Committee has taken on the important task of auditing all Independent Student Organizations at UOS. With responsibility, I will do my best to make sure that all student-paid fees are used properly.”
Kim said, “It is always important to elect a representative. As I manage this important work, I will try to act fairly.”
