Korean students can take part in this program in two different ways. The first way is to apply for the UOS Buddy program that is available only during the summer. This program not only gives students an opportunity to meet different people and experience their cultures, but it also provides an incentive that can be used when applying to an exchange program.
The second way is to take lectures from the program. Unlike previous semesters, this year, lectures were open to all students regardless of their major. More students who were interested than beforewere able to enroll. Kim Hyun-jung (Dept. of English Language and Literature, ’12), a student who took Korea and Globalisation this summer mentioned that this program was useful even for students that were not involved in the program directly.
Although she admitted that it was not easy for Korean students to get to know the foreign students in the class, she feels that this program challenged her to do more presentation as well as teamwork and experience what she would not have been able to otherwise.
