▲ The actors bowing to the audience after the first show
From Sept. 18 to 20 at Birth Hall, Theater Art Research Club of UOS performed Please Turn off the Light, its 38th workshop play aimed to align itself to show better performance to the audience. Holding a workshop for the first time in over three years, the Club downscaled this season’s work to perform only within school grounds with a small play. On this point, the director of Please Turn off the Light, Eun Sae-myeong (Dept. of Urban Planning and Design, ’13) elaborated, “I hoped for a chance for the new actors of the Club to practice and get to know acting before participating in the actual play.” He added, Please Turn off the Light has “an interesting composition.

Also, it holds a meaningful message while being simple and fun at the same time. I wish the audience can escape from the institutions inside themselves to accept their faiths.” Lastly, the chief actor, Kim Hong-geun (Dept. of Philosophy, ’10) said “I had a chance to perform with newcomers. This play’s aim was ‘improvement,’ and I hope the audience enjoys our work.”
