After the inauguration on Feb. 27 this year, President Won made changes in personnel in important positions at UOS; Deans of colleges and graduate schools were changed except for College of Politics and Economics and Business Administration. A wind of change is a current tendency of universities. Throughout this spring semester, almost 20 presidents of major universities started their term. Each of them pledged to show their leadership and spread their educational philosophy to make a new leap forward.
Furthermore, our university is going to celebrate its 100th anniversary during Won’s term. Won mentioned the slogan is not completed yet, but it includes “pride of UOS.” Regarding this, Lee Ji-min (Dept. of International Relations, ’14) said “I cannot easily link them together between pride of university and us. Our university is known for its quiet atmosphere and low tuition. It is not easy, but I think establishing a medical college is one method.” Won suggested that ensuring internal stability can give the public the impression that UOS is capable of developing further. It is time to support our president.
