The workers drained off water from Haneulmot the day before and then removed foreign substances or trash from it. Additionally, they cleaned the surrounding environment by pruning trees and swept the ground with brooms. The Divison of Construction implements this operation twice a year, and the next time is expected to be in October or November, 2016.
Han-su Choi, the officer of the Division of Construction said, “We can keep Haneulmot from stinking and protect the ecosystem by replacing the water regularly. By giving a lot of effort to conserve the ecological environment, the water quality of Haneulmot can be good even if the water does not flow.”
