From July 12th to 27th, UOS and the Seoul Medical Center went to Kyrgyzstan for volunteer works. The UOS members consisted of students and faculties - and the director of a hospital and five specialists of the Seoul Medical Center participated in the volunteer activities.

The UOS volunteer team mostly did teaching and educational volunteer works. They taught Korean, taekwondo, samulnori which is a Korean traditional percussion quartet, and K-Pop dance. In addition to educational volunteer works, they also painted a mural on the side of the school building. Meanwhile, the Seoul Medical Center team conducted medical technology training for the Kyrgyz doctors.

The student head of the UOS team, Do-hyeong Kim (School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, ’11), said that because he started to prepare the volunteer works in the middle of the semester, he spent hectic days. However he felt proud to be making amazing results. He said that he should plan everything from the start. Although it was quite difficult to make something with the limited information from the former volunteer team, he eventually carried out what he planned well and he was so proud of what he did.
