Queersidae, a sexual minority gathering in UOS, has finished the first Queer Film Festival after a minor problem. The festival was held on 10 and 11 of November in classroom 202 of the Liberal Arts building. As its first independent event in UOS, the festival was held in collaboration with Siwon, the Student Council. The festival dealt with four queer films, and invited the director of Troublers, one of the films shown, and some specialists who currently work for sexual minorities. The specialists talked about their work, and showed the poor condition and treatment toward sexual minorities.

When advertising the event, Siwon and Queersidae requested a flier for the advertisement of this festival to Daehak Munhwa, the central club that makes school magazine. However, after the distribution of the flier, it was found to contain some hateful expressions toward sexual minorities. Siwon and Queersidae posted a written apology immediately, and promised to collect the pamphlets as soon as possible.

Despite this problem, the festival finished successfully with lots of attendees and cheers from many students. One of the staff who volunteered for the festival said she wanted many students to acknowledge sexual minorities and make our society give less stress to them. Also, she said she hopes this kind of event would happen a lot more in our campus.
