The Office of Admissions Affairs at UOS has started to provide college applicants with a face-to-face counseling service that aims at enhanced provision of information and more efficient counseling. The counseling differs from that which provides a strategic analysis of the possibility that an applicant will be accepted by UOS, which is usually done based on the applicant’s resume. Rather, the counseling provided by this new service will be more information-focused, providing statistics such as the average GPA of those who were accepted in the previous year as well as the rate of competition. A director at the Office of Admissions Affairs said, “In addition to statistics, we will provide explanations about various admission types that best suit the client’s conditions.”

College applicants or parents can submit a letter of application via the UOS website to use the service. Once an applicant has received approval and the designated date and time for counseling, then he or she can visit UOS on the specified date to get counseling service. Applicants are encouraged to submit the letter at least a week prior to the desired date in case that more than a few want the same date and time. Besides students and parents, teachers can also use the service in order to better guide their students using more detailed information. The service guarantees one hour of counseling for teachers, and thirty minutes for students and parents.
