The Main Library started the translation service as of April 1st, 2004. The translation service, which can be reached by the UOS homepage, http://www.uos. ac.kr, provides useful information to students who need them. There is no charge for using the translation service, and the service is available for English and Japanese.

The translation service provides web translation, document translation and simple phrase translation. Each translation can be used by clicking on the corresponding button. The left side of the program is the original script, and the output comes on the right side. To use the service, you?l first need to download the software, ClickQ, from the UOS homepage.

Next, send an e-mail to the library administrator at pjs@uos.ac.kr with your personal information including your department, student ID number, and a reachable number. Then, you?l receive an access ID to ClickQ.

For a successful translation, you?l need to take the following steps. After you translate your work, highlight the part you think is inappropriate. Double clicking will bring up a list of alternative definitions. Translatingby phrase will also help you get better results, especially in compound sentences. For more information on the translation service, please visit the ClickQ homepage at http://www.clickQ.com
