Greetings to all the members of the class of 2003. In this edition of The UOS Times, we have a special article written specially for the newly arrived freshmen.

First of all, congratulations to all the freshmen coming to the UOS. For all freshmen and no one else but the freshmen, we¡¯d like to provide some very useful information for the betterment of your campus life. We will tell you briefly about food, clothes and shelter. To make you more like UOSians rather than just dull highshoolers.

Clothes The very first thing that distinguishes freshmen from the old student. Freshmen’s clothing style can be categorized into two groups. One group wears suits, usually their first suits.

The other group is the one who wears things somewhat awakwardly. But first let’s take a closer look at the undergraduates. They care more about the style than the clothes themselves. The recommeneded styles among the undergraduate’s are hiphop, sporty look, and classical look.

The main point of hiphop style is freedom and rebellion. No typical clothes are recommended but baggie pants and XXL size shirt are the most common. The sporty look style mostly depend on the function of clothes. Training pants, sneakers are usually the key point. The classical style doesn’t have to be formal suits. The so-called Sung Si-kyung style will be more than enough. In fact, this is the style that most girls prefer.

Food Restaurant in the Student Hall: This is the place where you can feed yourself cheaper than at any other place around UOS. The prices start from 800 won for noodles to the 2000 won special menu of the day.

You can check out the monthly menu on the school¡¯s homepage.
Restaurant in the Natural Science Building: The most thrilling, aristocratic restaurant you can find in our school. Although it¡¯s the most aristocratic restaurant, don¡¯t panic! It¡¯s costs only 2000won to eat there.

Cafeteria: Good place for some nice dessert. Geographically, it¡¯s just next to the restaurant in the Natural Science Building, so you won¡¯t have a hard time finding it. And since it¡¯s just next to a fabulous restaurant, the facilities are good there too. In particular, they have some nice sofas where you can relax and its interior design and overall style are just right for the hip customer. A highly recommended place for a nice cup of coffee.

WEB: ¡®WEB¡¯ is a place where your food is ready in no time. There are days in your freshman year when you don¡¯t even have enough time to have rice with a nice hot soup. In these situations, WEB is there to provide the quickest food service on campus. The price? The prices at WEB are competitive with any other fast-food restaurants off campus.

Shelter For now, UOS doesn’t have a dormitory which means the students from out of town have to find their own accommodation. So what types of accommodation are available, and which kind will best suit your needs? Let’s take a look.

And that’s it for now. We’ve only talked about the basics of food, clothes and shelter, but I’m sure that you will all find out much more to become great UOSians.

We just hope some of this information can be of use to you for a better school life. Before we go, we’d like to welcome you again to UOS and wish you the best for your life at UOS. If you have any further questions, please contact any of the undergraduates in your major.
