These days, there are so many English language schools for TOEFL in Korea. And needless to say, there are so many TOEFLers listening to TOEFL tapes or holding TOEFL books under their arms.

Most TOEFLers study for an international academic exchange program. It does not seem to be difficult to go abroad and study in a foreign university for a while. Once someone is prepared and has a strong will, there are many chances as they want.

Absolutely, in the UOS, there are many students who are interested in the program. However, as you see over, the international academic exchange program of the UOS does not extend as much as other universities. When you look at the UOS’s homepage, there is an icon named International Exchange.

It presents well about the program such as the application time, exchanging foreign universities, and requirements. Moreover, it describes the details about the university to us. But, the important thing is that the countries we could apply to are restricted to Japan, China, Russia and Mongolia. How about other schools?

At Kyung Hee University, they have various universities in various countries to which students can apply. In other universities, they can go not only Asia but also to Europe, America and the Middle East so on. On the homepage, you can see the sentence, “International Academic Exchange has been a major means to strengthen university’s research capability.”

However, I wonder if it really puts emphasis on the academic exchange program. It is not the past that determines the ranking of our school only in our country. Now, it is the time to make a big step forward as an international university. Our student exchange program, however, does not help at all now. So, it has to be innovated to make our school as an international university.
