On September 3, 2004, the University of Seoul (UOS) had a celebration on the completion of the Design & Sculpture Building and an exhibition at its entrance.

The construction had gone through from December 2001 to June 2004. The Design & Sculpture Building was named after the word ‘molding’, which usually includes the concepts of picture, design and sculpture.

The building has five floors and two undergrounds, which may be enough space for taking classes and more than enough for working to the students of the Dept. of Industrial and Visual Design students and the Dept. of Environmental Sculpture.

It has a special lobby for the events such as opening ceremony, special exhibition and reception. In the opening ceremony, over 80 people participated including the president, and artists. The special exhibition had been held for a week since the opening ceremony.

There were many works of art created by students and invited artists. It was to raise awareness of the building among students and to have a chance of viewing that anyone could see new and striking works of art.
