The reporter interviewed a student who porticipated in the “International Summer School” program. (Jang Hoejung, Dept. of International Relations)

1. How did you happen to take part in this project?

I got to know this program by an assistant, But I was a special case and nearly most people got to know this by the school’s program or by the seniors.

2. What is this program about, specificly?

Well, I can say it is a program showing foreign students what Korea is. We show foreign students our school and go to the yaejiwon and learn Korean traditions wearing Hanbok. The foreign students also get to learn samulnori and see our traditional music performances. We also take them to places such as Kyungbokgung or Insadong.

3. What did the foreign students think about our school?

We gave the Hiroshima Women’s University students a tour and they loved our school. They said our school was very large and asked if our school is a big school among Korea’s universities. They also mentioned that our school was very pretty.

4. What did you get through this program?

Talking with foreign people who are different from us made me learn about many things.

I also learned about the parts of Korea that I didn’t know. It was a pleasant experience talking about Korea with foreign students and learning about their culture.
