Professors, including a dean of Lawand Public Administration in theUniversity of Seoul (UOS) visitedRyucyus University on June 30th. Theyheld a seminar, the theme of which was‘Seeking Possibilities for Korean-Japanese Relationships’ with professorsfrom the Law School of RyucyusUniversity.
There were discussionsabout FTA possibilities and prospectsbetween Korea and Japan and differencesin historical recognition among thenortheast Asian countries.
“Most of theparticipants positively evaluate FreeTrade Agreement (FTA) between Koreaand Japan. However there are manyproblems to solve between Korea andJapan. Also they agree that privateefforts are more important than governmentaleffort in narrowing differences inhistorical recognition among the northeastAsian countries.”
said ProfessorKim Min-jeong. After the seminar, participantsdiscussed how UOS andRyucyus University can extend thedepartmental exchange program to a university-wide program.
