Last year we made a goal to reach out to readers, not only students of the UOS but also foreign exchange students. Our reach also extends to foreign universities taking part in exchange programs with the UOS. This year we added another goal: to make this magazine more interesting and to increase its readability.
To achieve this goal, NEWS@UOS increased the number of pages from 16 to 20 and diversified the contents. `News in Brief,` covering events happening in the UOS, was increased by one page to deliver more news to our readers. `Campus Issue,` addressing university students?concerns, was also increased by one page. We also added a new kicker, `Vogue,` to reflect the trends that most students are interested in and to offer more interesting articles. To make students think about their aptitude and develop new interests, we added `Career Preview,` with information about interesting occupations. In addition, we have the column `UOS Voice` that allows readers, especially exchange students and professors, to not only enjoy the magazine but also publish their points of view. We hope you can widen your scope of communication and understand other cultures through reading foreigners?thoughts first-hand.
In keeping with the theme of new beginnings, we have made these changes and revisions to our magazine to give you, the reader, a fresh new look for a fresh new year. We hope you enjoy reading our magazine and find our articles interesting and informative.
