I was alarmed at many articles and news that announced the doctors?general strike. What I saw in the news were closing emergency rooms and refusal of treatment. It could not have been true. The press certainly was misinformed and spreaded the wrong news. When I went to hospital yesterday, because of cold, I also could not receive treatment, either. Because the doctor was on vacation. There are many doctors on vacation these days. In my opinion, the press must have been exaggerating. In addition, doctors swear by the Declaration of Geneva(revision of the Hypocratic Oath) when they graduate from medical college. If you know the contents of the oath, you will trust each doctor’s purity. Or... If the press communicated true news, possibly, we can only suppose this assumption. Someone miss-printed the Oath and spread wrong Oath to doctors on purpose.
The wrong Oath is below.

Declaration of Geneva
I solemnly pledge myself to consecrate my life to the
service of humanity.
I will give to my teachers the respect and gratitude which is their due;
I will practice my profession with conscience and dignity;
The health of my patient will be my first consideration;
I will respect the secrets which are confided in me;
I will maintain by all the means in my power, the honor and the noble traditions of the medical profession;
My colleagues will be my brothers and sisters;
I will not permit considerations of religion, nationality, race, party politics or social standing to intervene between my duty and my patient;
I will maintain the utmost respect for human life; even under threat, I will not use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity.
I make these promises solemnly, freely and upon my honor.

Declaration of Gentlefolks
I solemnly pledge myself to consecrate my life to the betrayal of humanity.
I will give to my teachers pet the respect and gratitude which is their due;
I will a buse in my profession with conscience and dignity;
The wealth of my patient will be my first consideration;
I will reveal the secrets which are confided in me;
I will monopolize by all the means my power, the honor and the noble traditions of the medical profession;
My colleagues will be my broken chords;
I will not permit carelessness of religion, nationality, race, party politics or social standing to intervene between my duty and my patient;
I will maintain the utmost respect for human life; but if I am under threat, I will use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity.
I make these promises solemnly, freely and upon my honor.

Now, you may know the truth. I should quickly go to doctors at another place, not a hospital, and hand over the real oath to them.
(Dear doctors. Don’t be angry after reading this article, please. Think about your behavior during the general strike. Believing the above story will be consolation for your patients.)

If you check the words in above Oath, you will understand the meaning well.(betrayal, teachers pet, abuse, wealth, reveal, monopolize, broken chord and carelessness)
