The Place

Coreana Cosmetics Company`s `Space*C` was established in 2004 to celebrate the 15th anniversary. Yu Sang-ok, president of Coreana & founder of `Space*C` speaks the aim of the place on its homepage. "I intended `Space*C` to be an urban cultural place where tradition and art can live together."

`Space*C` is divided into two parts - these are a cosmetic museum and an exhibition space (art gallery). First of all, at the cosmetic museum (located on the 5th and 6th floor) you can watch about 300 artifacts related to cosmetics.

Most of the exhibits come from President Yu`s personal collections. He has collected all sorts of goods related to cosmetics for thirty years. On the fifth floor, visitors can have the opportunity to understand cosmetics culture. Various exhibitions such as accessories, costumes and mirrors are put on display.

On the upper floor, historical remains are exhibited in order to facilitate comprehension about the history of cosmetics. Currently, a collection themed is on display on this floor.

The exhibition hall (gallery) is located underground. Some private exhibitions, joint exhibitions and themed exhibitions-more than eighteen-have been held there. The joint collection `Shall we smell?` was on display until November 3rd last.

Other facilities located in the building are a coffee shop, a bar and the roof garden. As a cultural complex in the city, `Space*C` performs its role with flair.
