Student Exchange
Every semester, the UOS dispatches and hosts exchange students from partner institutions around the world. Tuition is paid to the home university. Application should be processed under the approval of the Institute of International Cooperation and Education (IICE). For more information, please contact Ms. Kim So-hee (

Foreign Language Study Abroad
UOS students now have more chances to go to foreign universities to learn foreign languages: English, Chinese, and Japanese. For a period of four to six weeks, 20 students can go to each foreign university: one UK university, three USA universities, a Canadian university, two Chinese universities and a Japanese university. The UOS supports much of the cost. Language skill test scores and term records are the most important factors in choosing the applicants. For more information, please contact Ms. Kang Sun-yeong (

Dual Degree Programs
The UOS offers dual degree programs that allows students to simultaneously earn two bachelor degrees from two institutions: at home and abroad. Students are exposed to comprehensive and integrative environments in their major area by studying four semesters at each institution. For more information, please contact Ms. Kim So-hee (

The International Summer School (ISS)
The International Summer School (ISS) program provides international students with an opportunity to learn about Korean culture and tradition. One of the unique advantages of ISS is the one-on-one Buddy Program. One of the UOS students shares a room with each of international students interested in as well as Korean studies. Students are required to take three two-credit courses delivered in English; two of them are in-class lectures, and the other is concerned with field trips. For more information, please contact Ms. Shin Eun-hwa (

Coordinate Your Wants with Programs

[Q] I`m a freshman of the Dept. of Business Administration. I am considering going to an English speaking country as an exchange student or as part of a dual degree program, so I wonder what universities are there. Next I want to apply to experience these foreign countries, and what programs are there to suit me?

[A] There are two chances to be an exchange student to English-speaking countries. You can go to three American universities and a Canadian university - San Francisco State University, Miami University, State University of New York at Stony Brook, and the University of Calgary. You could apply to San Francisco State University and Miami University in early March and go in August. And you can apply to State University of New York at Stony Brook and the University of Calgary in early September and go in January next year. Application requirements are: having completed more than two semesters, having at least a 3.0 GPA and the certificate of TOEFL or IELTS score.

The Dual Degree Program was set up with State University of New York at Stony Brook and San Francisco State University. Notified in June and November, qualified students go in January and August of the following year. If you have a serious interest, you should check whether your major is applicable to. Application requirements are: having completing more two semesters and completed more than half of the units to graduate.

You can go abroad to study language during summer vacation. You can apply to five universities of English speaking countries (USA, U.K., Canada), two Chinese and a Japanese university. Each university takes 20 students. It is approved as 2 units of the summer semester. Application requirements is simply being a student of the UOS.
