Prof. Yoo Seung-hee’s Thesis Published
A thesis for a doctorate written by Yoo Seung-hee, an assistant Prof. of the Urban Humanities, is being prepared to be published. The thesis whose title is ‘Research on the Actual Condition of Crime and Modality of Dissension in Seoul in the 18th and 19th Centuries’ is valued as meaningful research in many ways. The reason is that she investigated the lives of people especially their criminal records; in the academic world climate, researchers usually study the Joseon Dynasty because there are well-known the events. The book title is "Unsolved Crime Events in the Joseon Dynasty - Who is a real murderer?" Prof. Yoo said, “There are many incidental advantages while studying criminal history. One of the benefits was that I confirmed king Jeongjo’s endeavors to make clear the facts of crimes so that there is no person who was unjustly suspected of guilt.”
The UOS Press Interviewed President of the UOS

He said that he has been trying hard to improve students’ spirit of challenge and leadership and he will keep doing that so. He also mentioned, “We need a big change and renovation. The students and staff of the UOS should have a strong will to improve growth and make the effort to achieve ‘Vision 2018’.”
