This March, the donation raised in the name of the University of Seoul (UOS) was successfully delivered to the Community Chest of Korea's Daegu branch. The Student Council (Pallette) organized this to express gratitude and support for the medical staff fighting against COVID-19.

There has been much effort to overcome the coronavirus at home and abroad since it hit the world last December. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in December, various measures have been undertaken to cope with it and UOS also has strived to prevent it. (For more details, see the article "UOS Dealing with the Coronavirus" in the last Campus News of The UOS Times.) As part of the countermeasures, the Student Council promoted the idea of raising donations for medical staff standing at the forefront of virus eradication. The fund was raised for 15 days from March 4 to 19 by posting a notice on Instagram (@uosofseoul). After the funding, the Student Council posted the certificate of sponsorship on Social media. The post mentioned that 100 blankets (worth about 2,170,000 KRW) and donations (2,330,000 KRW) were finally collected through voluntary contributions by a total of 190 students. This successful outcome indicates that it received quite a lot of support from UOS members though it was carried out on social media under the supervision of the Student Council, even without any official notice on the website of UOS. In addition, through the notice, the council thanked the students and asked them to carefully follow the guidelines of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC). The Community Chest of Korea also posted on its website that they were able to provide systematic support to vulnerable areas thanks to the fund.
