The summer vacation season from July to August is a day of great anticipation for some, but heartbreaking for others. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on August 10, the number of abandoned animals was 13,700 in July, the highest level of the year. 830 animals were raised from the previous month, up nearly 1,000 from the average of 12,732 in the past three years (2017-2019). The way to abandon companion animals is also terrible. Some people think that if companion animals are abandoned near their homes, they can return to homes so they leave them on the vacation spot. Although the government recommends registration of companion animals and imposes fines on those who abandon them, punishment is not easy. A companion animal is not an object but a life. We should think enough before adopting animals and take responsibility after adopting them.
