“SiPORTS,” the athletic association of University of Seoul, and “Palette”, the Student Council, plan to conduct an “E-sports competition.” The preliminary round of the competition is planned to be held on Nov. 20 to 22, and the final round is scheduled to be covered live on Nov. 27. The competition’s events include the League of Legend and Cart Rider. In this presidential E-sports competition, nine schools in the eastern part of Seoul (UOS, Kwangwoon University, Konkuk University, Sejong University, Kyunghee University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea University, Sahmyook University, and Seoul National University of Science and Technology) will participate.

SiPORTS, the host of the event, is the athletic association of UOS, which was designated as the official athletic organization at the general meeting of the Student Council last year, and was first launched as an official organization this year. It aims for healthy school life and advanced physical education for students; it hosted yeokdong-jeon (the sports competition of UOS, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Kyunghee University in English) in 2019 and promoted the activities of the Central Club for physical education. Although events that can be enjoyed offline are being canceled because of the present circumstances, preparing for online sports events reflects the aim of SiPORTS.

The upcoming E-sports competition will be a grand-scale event in which nine schools in the eastern region participate; only three schools in Dongdaemun-gu were involved in the canceled 2020 cyber Yeokdong-jeon. In addition, because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, most offline events, such as a welcome party for freshman, the school festival, and so on are being canceled. Most students are tired of such disappointments. Therefore, the upcoming event will help resolve the prevalent dejection. It is said that the event is being carried out step by step until November. Thus, a lot of attention and participation will be helpful for successful event progression.
