Today, Nov. 11 is familiar to many Koreans with Pepero Day. Giving Pepero to friends and lovers has already become a kind of culture. However, today is also a legal anniversary with a different meaning. It is Farmer's Day to inspire the pride of farmers and to reflect on the importance of agriculture. The reason why it was designated as Nov. 11 is that according to the agricultural philosophy of "the farmers live together with the soil and return to the soil," the Chinese character of soil(土) was divided into 10(十) and 1(一). Nov. 11 is the day that 11 entered twice. Due to urbanization and industrialization, Korea's agriculture and rural areas are decreasing day by day. I hope we can not only remember Nov. 11 as Pepero Day but also think about our country's agriculture and farmers before passing by.
