Department of Artificial Intelligence

The Department of Artificial Intelligence is newly established for nurturing talented people who maximize the use of AI in the industrial sector and society and to lead the development of innovative AI technologies. This allows students to acquire fundamental AI technologies based on various fields, such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, and logic. Moreover, the Department of Artificial Intelligence will enhance numerous programs, in line with the educational goals of the department. This will help to foster talented students who can creatively utilize AI technology to derive resolutions for diverse issues by operating various programs.

Department of Applied Chemistry

Chemistry is basic science and there are many areas that are suitable for its application. Therefore, the establishment of the Department of Applied Chemistry will serve as the basis of various applied academic fields, promoting the linkage and development between disciplines. Applied chemistry is the field related to studying chemical technology that can be used in real life. Therefore, students majoring in Applied Chemistry not only learn the basic subjects of chemistry but also the chemistry areas wherein various studies are linked. In addition, to guide students to lead the development of the chemical industry with innovative and conative attitudes, the Department of Applied Chemistry delivers an in-depth curriculum. Through the establishment of this department, it is expected that it will operate as the foundation for solving urban problems in an aging society by utilizing research techniques based on applied chemistry.

The MOU between UOS and SKT in the field of AI technology and curriculum operation is expected to promote the growth of competent students who will utilize future technologies. Moreover, the establishment of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department Applied Chemistry will strengthen the competitiveness of UOS by preemptively responding to rapidly-developing advanced technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
