MEMORIAL DAYS

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted college admission schedules. Despite this harsh situation, University of Seoul (UOS) carried out an admission plan through a strict quarantine system. The essay examination was conducted from October 24 to 25 and held in 119 testing centers in 11 buildings. In contrast, last year, the examination was held at 76 test centers in nine buildings. Five special test centers were operated for social distancing and quarantine.

On this day, outsiders were restricted from accessing the campus for the prevention of COVID-19 transmission. After arriving at the testing center, those appearing for the examination were able to enter the room only after they moved along the waiting line in front of the building and submitted the medical questionnaire form, and even measured their body temperature.

Moreover, there were some changes to the other selection models that included interviews.

Interviews will be conducted on December 12 and 13. In their plan, UOS announced they will conduct face to face interviews as the original plan. Although there are voices of concern that in-person interviews may lead to the spread of COVID-19, UOS remained steadfast with its initial plan, unlike other universities. However, some changes have been introduced. The interview time, which was 15 minutes until last year, has been reduced to 10 minutes to maintain a sufficient gap between each interview. Although changes have been made in the admission plan, in accordance with the social distancing levels, the process of selecting freshmen is ongoing.
