The registration process for the current semester of the 2021 school year began around the middle of February using a new system wherein some changes were introduced. It was conducted differently for each grade from February 17 to 26.

There were three major changes. First, the screen time for class registration was changed from 30 to 60 minutes. Second, the use of multiple devices and multi-tabs was restricted. Third, the registration deadline was changed. Consequently, the waiting period for access appears once the registration button is clicked on under the course registration tab. There were more positive than negative responses to these changes. Until the last semester, there used to be a queue beginning from the course registration tab. Hence, the possibility of an unsuccessful class registration was higher if a student was not right on time. However, the current method prevents leaving success and failure to chance by banning the use of multiple windows. Further, this method now enables subject-wise queues, which the students considered fairer than the previous registration method.

After the class registration, student “S” in the third grade said that every time she clicked on the subject registration button, she could see the queue. Hence, the order in which one clicks this button is crucial. Student “K” in the second grade also claimed to feel more comfortable because of the reduction in the efforts that previously went into making multi-tabs. Further, unlike the previous registration method for classes, the new method was about timing rather than luck. There were also some negative reactions. Despite the convenience offered by the new registration system, enrolling in some popular liberal arts courses remains difficult because of their quick completion. Therefore, most students who exclusively opt for popular subjects, often fail. Students must consider having a plan B and C if they fail to register.
