The classes have been opened and the class registration has ended, so many students are busy looking for the textbooks that they need to take classes.
However, many students often say that they have many problems with getting textbooks. First, plenty of textbooks are expensive, so it is often a financial burden to buy several books. In some cases, the students cannot get books since the book presented as a reference sometimes has gone out of print. Also, if the book has been revised several times, it is confusing which edition to buy. In addition, there are students who have difficulty purchasing books from outside due to the COVID-19 pandemic this semester.
To solve these problems, students are finding their way. They often buy used ones from platforms such as Everytime, the university online community. Also, they have inherited the books from seniors who used textbooks earlier. Alternatively, they convert textbooks into files that can be used on laptops or tablets and share them with friends.
This semester, for students who are difficult to purchase textbooks due to non-face-to-face classes depending on the Pandemic situation, University of Seoul (UOS) has opened a website of the campus bookstore. UOS stated, “We provide textbook orders and delivery services for classes on the website, so please use them for students who are difficult to visit the bookstore due to non-face-to-face lectures.” If you want to visit the campus bookstore, you can visit the first basement floor of Student Hall.
Textbooks are must-have items for university students to study. It would be nice if there would be no students who find their textbooks hard.
