The second Media Day was held from 6:30 p.m. on May 28, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held at Zoom for pre-applicants. At the event, lectures were given by journalist, announcer, and PD mentors for 30 minutes each.
“A reporter would be a person who is not afraid to write down and to meet others,” the reporter mentor said, introducing how to be a reporter and how to prepare for it. She said, “a reporter is a job that projects a lot of 'I'.” The mentor, who told listeners to think a lot about themselves, said “Work with a vocation that you can change the world as a reporter.”
The announcer mentor began her lecture by saying that a mindset to prepare for the announcer. The mentor emphasized that to become an announcer, aspirants have to take good care of themselves and experience various activities. As an announcer, the mentor encouraged aspirants by saying that “You can do it if you do not give up and develop your skills.”
Proogram Director (PD) mentors said it is important for aspirants to know precisely which of the subdivided broadcasting professions they want to do. “The broadcasting environment is changing. and the working area is also an important factor to consider while preparing for the PD, such as mentioning that it is an important factor to consider.” The mentor advised the aspirants to think that the reality of the job as a PD could be different from what they thought.
The event ended with senior mentors answering questions received from participants in advance. It was a valuable time for aspiring students who want to be journalists to get information through lectures and Q&A with senior journalists. Mentors said they felt that journalist activities could change the world in common. The university press journalists should remember their duty as college reporters and try to write articles that can contribute to changing the world by accurately conveying information and analyzing situations sharply.
