Today, June 5 is World Environment Day. World Environment Day was established by the international community at the "United Nations Conference on Human Environment'' in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 1972, pledging joint efforts to preserve the global environment. The United Nations Environmental Program(UNEP), which was established under this resolution, has announced the theme of the year since 1987 for World Environment Day and has selected country-holding events. The theme of this year's World Environment Day is 'ecosystem restoration'. This theme was chosen to redefine human relations with nature. This year's World Environment Day event will be held in Pakistan, and UNEP officially announced the launch of the U.N. Decade on Ecosystem Restoration from 2021 to 2030. Korea selected 'realization of carbon neutrality for future generations' as the theme of Environment Day in 2021 to achieve carbon neutrality for our children and overcome the climate crisis. It also held various commemorative events across the country in conjunction with local governments and affiliated organizations, including the "Delivery Food Zero-Waist Challenge'' and "signing business agreements to reduce the use of disposable products for carbon neutrality." Lots of companies also conducted environmental campaigns and events. The environment is ultimately a matter of our survival. Don't think too far, and too hard. Let's do small things that we can do first, such as pulling plugs that we don't use, using tumblers, etc.
