Minimal life refers to a way of living in pursuit of satisfaction and happiness with only the few things necessary for daily life. It is a synonym for “simple life” and “simple living”. Minimalists aim to be content with what they have by voluntarily reducing unnecessary objects or routines.

There might be a question: Why do they pursue minimal life? The main reason is that they believe that they can find happiness by focusing on what is truly precious and essential in life and finding their true self. They say that practicing a minimal life reduces unnecessary to-dos, makes them grateful for what they have, and the peace of mind that comes from a tidy space frees them from crowded thoughts.

Practicing a minimal life is simple and easy. You can just throw away the things you don't need or haven't used for a long time. If you have several items of one type, reduce them to one. Think carefully whether it is necessary for you before purchasing something.

It is a misunderstanding that minimalists are stingy. Minimal life has nothing to do with absolute numbers. Since each person has a difference in their lifestyle, the definition of what they need is relative. Pursuing a clean space can also have different meanings depending on the person's lifestyle. For example, it is foolish to get rid of things that are necessary for one's health or one's job. Minimalists pursue the same thing, but what they pursue can appear in different ways.

These days, most people, being oppressed by COVID-19, are doing “revenge spending”. However, there are some people who pursue a minimal life. The value of lightness that minimalists have seems to be able to ease the minds of modern people living in a materialistic world.
