I’m honored to be the new chief editor of the 100th edition of the UOS Times. At the same time this is my first time editing the magazine, I feel great pressure and a sense of responsibility. Our magazine is distributed quarterly only on the campus, and we carefully write sentences in our articles that do not distort the facts. Needless to say, the larger media companies which are read, heard, watched daily by our nation should always be fair to everyone.

The UOS Employment Festival was held in the 21st Century Building on September 9th and 10th. There were many events such as image make-up, tarot fortune, aptitude test with a finger mark, photos for a resume, job fields about finance and consultation of the public service, business, marketing and IT and R&D which could help you find a section that suits you.

There were also LG CNS and Hyundai Motor company’s job fair in the Natural Science Building. After filling out a questionnaire, participants were able to get a brochure and a guide book related to employment. The following is a summary of some advices in the brochure.

  • The sooner, the better to select a goal in life. Doing part-time job and internship is good for your career and a way to check your aptitude. You should love your company and be ambitious. English speaking tests are an obligation.
  • Express yourself specifically, creatively, and frankly about your experiences in your application.
  • Your attitude, teamwork and leadership are important in an interview. It is good to use humor and don’t be passive, more importantly, be active and think it is just an ordinary conversation.
