In the previous article in The UOS Times (“Dormitory as a Residential Treatment Center, Again,” 2021.9.), we reported about the second operation of the dormitory of the University of Seoul (UOS) as a residential treatment center. At the time, we thought that there would be a possibility of a third operation in this winter vacation. In fact, due to the recent rapid increase in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the capital area, existing residential treatment centers are insufficient. Therefore, according to the urgent request of Seoul Metropolitan Government, the dormitory of UOS will be converted into a life treatment center again during this winter vacation, and it is happening for the third time.

As in the previous operation in last summer vacation, Konkuk University's dormitory will be used as an alternative accommodation and shuttle buses, which run between Konkuk University and UOS, will be operated. Moreover, UOS will call out vans for the students who have to move to the alternative accommodation or give them 100,000 KRW to minimize any discomfort they may have.

Suudents who lived in the dormitory in the second semester of 2021 and those who plan to live there during winter vacation should find out about this residential treatment center operation and respond to it appropriately. The check-out deadline for students who lived in the dormitory in this second semester is noon on December 22, one day longer than previously scheduled. They should note that any luggage left over will be disposed of.

The UOS Times hopes that the students will not experience any inconvenience due to this residential treatment center operation. We also hope that the pandemic will subside and the dormitory of UOS will no longer have to be converted into a residential treatment center again.
