Vaccine pass, or COVID-19 pass, is a certificate that proves one’s vaccination or confirms negative through a COVID-19 test. South Korea implemented this measure nationwide on December 13. A total of 16 facilities, including restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, concert halls, party rooms, massage shops, museums, indoor sports stadiums, academies, study rooms and study cafes, multi-rooms, and PC rooms, are subject to vaccine passes.

In the case of adults, it is a principle to use an electronic access list (hereinafter referred to as QR check-in) or a safe call. If vaccination is not possible due to health reasons or if she or he is completely cured after being diagnosed with COVID-19, the exception to vaccine pass is recognized. However, even in this case, documents issued by public health centers must be required.

The validity period of vaccine pass is six months after completion of a vaccine series. Even if the double-vaccination is completed, the date will expire if the third inoculation is not received. Upon completion of the third inoculation, vaccine pass will take effect again. Therefore, people who have completed the second inoculation in the early stages must receive the third inoculation to extend the validity of vaccine pass. Until January 3, 2022, the vaccination will be completed even after six months after the basic vaccination, but after the 3, vaccine passes have expired.

There is a lot of noise surrounding these vaccine passes. The adjustment of the timing and scope of the youth vaccine pass is still under discussion. The confusion is mounting as the Ministry of Education announced that the announcement of the plan may pass the year. In addition, there are people who buy and sell vaccination certificates on shopping sites. The quarantine authorities warned of intense criminal punishment of this. It is time for close consultation between the government and the people again.
