Biting cold seems to have hidden itself with awaited warm breeze returning after the long season of winter. Throughout the whole week, the temperature is expected to be between ten to twenty degrees every day. Also, the days got much longer, which means it became much better to hang out and appreciate the warm weather.

Yet, it may be too early to lay the winter outfits aside. Coming every year around mid to late April is kkotsaemchuwi (flower-envying cold, in English). The last cold snap may drop the temperature down to under five degrees even in May. Numerous people catch cold because of kkotsaemchuwi so it is highly recommended to get prepared for it.

Cherry blossom, the iconic spring flower of East Asia, appeared in Seoul from March 28 and the full bloom is anticipated within this week. The most popular place to enjoy the flowers is definitely Yeouido. For the first time in three years, Cherry Blossom Festival is held in Yeouido from April 9 to April 17, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekend. Being the biggest and the most famous flower festival in Korea, is it known for beautiful scenery and photo spots.

With blossoms and warm breeze come mid-term exams. As beautiful as the flowers are, soon the exams will be. The UOS Times wishes each and every student of the University of Seoul to fully enjoy the season of spring whilst keeping careful minds on academics.
