Every Monday around 6 pm, some people gather at the football pitch of University of Seoul (UOS). Many students from all over the world can be seen all together. They gather, they make the teams, and they play the game they love the most, football.

Many of the players find football a way to meet with new people and a way to countermeasure ‘’Monday Blues’’. They prepare themselves for this special occasion every week and with the kick-off, they leave their stress and behind. By playing side by side, they bond with each other, creating a sense of community.

German-Turkish exchange student Serkan Özen (Dept. of Business Administration 22’ ) stated that ‘’ I not only love playing football but I also love to connect with people through it. Even though many of us came from different countries and speak different languages, we use the language of football to communicate. We also spend dinner time together afterwards, so we create a unique community at UOS. Although we are in a foreign country, we don’t feel the loneliness thanks to football. I really appreciate having a chance to play my favorite sport with this beautiful community.’’

Just like football, many students can be seen all around the campus doing things they like to do thanks to the nice weather. Even though many of the students are studying for their exams right now, The UOS Times hopes all students to do well on their midterms and start having enjoyable memories in the campus once again.
