These days, college students’ passion for starting a business is great. Some students in University of Seoul(UOS), which has a high proportion of students preparing for civil service exams, are also interested in starting a business. For these students, the UOS Startup Support Group operates various programs.

On May 19, a start-up festival was held. In the morning, a briefing session on the start-up support system and program, a launching ceremony for the first SI startup ambassador, and an appointment ceremony for SI startup family companies were held. In the afternoon, Tread&Groove CEO’s special lecture on start-ups, 1:1 start-up mentoring by field, and the first SI Crew selection contest were held.

At the selection contest of the start-up club SI Crew, the last order of the festival, student start-up teams presented their ideas. There were a wide variety of items, including used kitchen appliance rental service, non-face-to-face child rearing coaching service, and the sale of tableware that depicted the story of long-term missing children. After the students’ presentation, experts conducted questions and feedback for them.

If students are selected for the start-up club SI CREW, they will be offered support fund, start-up education, start-up activities space and infrastructure. In addition, students can participate in networking events hosted by the UOS Startup Support Group. It will be of great help to students who want to start a business.

UOS Startup Support Group is trying to increase students’ interest in starting a business and help with the initial process. If you are interested in starting a business, it would be good to look at the start-up notice often and see what programs are operated. The UOS Times hopes that students who want to start a business will be helped and grow a lot.
