UOS student lounges function as places for students to study, relax, or gather. Unlike a library, lounges allow conversations, and, unlike study cafes, you do not have to pay a fee. However, there are many students who do not know the existence of the lounges or do not know where it is. The UOS Times visited the student lounges scattered throughout the campus, hoping this article will help students use the lounges prepared for them more often and benefit from them.
First is the student lounge on the first floor of the 21st Century Building. There are PCs and seminar rooms for students. During the semester, it is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.
Second, there are two lounges in the Information and Technology Building, one on the first floor and the other on the first basement floor. The student lounge on the first floor is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays during the semester. However, the lounge on the first basement floor is closed due to COVID-19.
The third student lounge is located on the first basement floor of the Mirae Hall. Although run by the School of Business Administration, it is open to all students. During the semester, it is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In addition, there is an ALTI Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Law School and another student lounge on the 6th floor of the “Da” building of the Centennial Memorial Hall. However, ALTI Lounge is under construction and cannot be used for the time being, due to the relocation of some facilities to the Law School following the remodeling of Student Hall. Also, the student lounge at the Centennial Memorial Hall is open exclusively for students at Institute for Continuing Education.
Please note that all operating hours listed in this article are relevant during the semester, and the operating hours may vary during the exam period and vacation. The UOS Times hopes that the COVID-19 situation will end and the remodeling will be over soon so that the UOS students can use all of these facilities freely.
